1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using RemoveMD ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
The Service is operated by Jules ESNAULT, sole trader (auto-entrepreneur), SIRET 100 640 192 00017, Paris, France. Full legal details on the Legal Notice page.
2. Description of Service
RemoveMD is a tool that removes metadata from files. It allows users to:
- Strip metadata from images, PDFs, videos, audio and office documents
- Process files anonymously, without providing personal information
- Download cleaned files free of identifying metadata
We strive to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
3. User Responsibilities
When using the Service you agree to:
- Use the Service only for lawful purposes
- Not upload content that is illegal, harmful or infringes third-party rights
- Respect intellectual property rights
- Not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, decompile or abuse the Service
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for users who violate these terms.
4. File Processing & Data
- Files are processed in memory or temporary storage and deleted immediately after processing.
- We use an anonymous identifier instead of personal information.
- We do not claim ownership of any file you upload.
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures but cannot guarantee absolute protection against all possible threats.
5. Pricing, Subscription & Credits
- Prices are displayed on the pricing page, VAT included where applicable.
- The Pro subscription is billed monthly in advance and renews automatically until cancelled.
- You can cancel at any time from your dashboard; access remains until the end of the current billing period.
- Credits are prepaid units that allow additional file processing. Credits do not expire.
- We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice for existing subscribers.
6. Right of Withdrawal (EU/UK consumers)
EU and UK consumers normally have 14 days from purchase to withdraw from a distance contract (Directive 2011/83/EU, French Consumer Code Art. L.221-18).
6.1 Pro subscription
You may withdraw within 14 days of the initial purchase by emailing contact@removemd.com. We refund within 14 days, minus a proportional amount for any use during that period (Art. L.221-25).
6.2 Credits โ express request for immediate performance
Credits are digital content whose performance begins as soon as the first credit is spent. Before purchasing, you confirm:
"I expressly request that the Service begins immediately and acknowledge I will lose my right of withdrawal as soon as I use the first credit of this purchase."
- If you have not spent any credit, you keep your 14-day right of withdrawal and can request a full refund.
- As soon as you spend the first credit, the right of withdrawal is lost for that purchase.
To request a refund of unused credits, email contact@removemd.com with your anonymous ID and purchase date.
7. Intellectual Property
The RemoveMD name, branding and website design are protected by intellectual property laws. Part of the metadata removal engine is published under an open-source licence on GitHub; its terms prevail for that portion.
You retain all rights to files you upload. You grant us a limited, temporary, non-exclusive licence to process those files solely to deliver the Service.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
Beyond the legal warranties that cannot be waived, the Service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that:
- The Service will meet all your specific requirements
- The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free at all times
- Every piece of metadata from every file type will be removed
For critical workflows, always verify the cleaned file.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages resulting from the Service.
Our aggregate liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the six months preceding the event.
10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by French law, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence.
We encourage you to contact us first at contact@removemd.com to resolve any dispute amicably. Consumers may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
Disputes that cannot be resolved amicably fall under the jurisdiction of the competent French courts.
